The muscles are out if this world (and I typically don't like any muscles!!). The wings are amazing, not buffalo'd at all, but roasted with garlic and olive oil- delish!!! The pizza is outstanding, brick oven style, the toppings are fresh and amazing!! This is a 'don't miss' spot!!!

The Sicilian salad and chicken Parmesan pizza are the best I've had also love the Popeye pizza this is the ONLY pizza I will eat and my absolute favorite salad the dressing is Amazing I wish they sold it in a bottle!

Brought along a new friend this time on my second visit. Along with my favorite starter fried calamari, I ordered an eggplant parmesan pancetta. Many very well-seasoned, thin cut slices of eggplant stacked high and snuggled in between crisp, warm bread. My friend enjoyed the Fughedaboutit panetta that I recommended and she created a new menu item by topping her salad with some of the fried calamari. Nothing here disappoints.

We love this place! As a transplanted New Yorker from Staten Island, we know good pizza, and Sicilian Oven is as close as you will get to it. We usually start of with the house salad with blue cheese. Sometime we add the garlic rolls to the meal. Then come the pizza. We have tried all different combinations of toppings as well as the plain and have never been disappointed. it is a very thin crust pizza. The square Sicilian pie is loaded with cheese and sauce and is also very tasty. The prices are very reasonable and the open kitchen gives you a great view of their wood fired oven. One warning is that their pizza is served well done so it might have some burn marks from the oven. Get here on the early side as there is usually a line that forms on weekends. If you're in the mood for pizza then you can't go wrong here.

Music is horrible for an Italian restaurant. Too many kids kids crying and carrying on. Rock music for italian? Food ok. For real Italian drive down the road to Zucarellis. A lot better.

  • Suzi D.

Consistently very good , my favorite - eggplant dishes, sliced very thin and not saturated in sauce. The fresh salad with olives, grated parm, almonds., Tom. Garzonzola. Oh my Kinda close quarters in front and astranged in the back room

Food is great BUT this place is SO loud you cannot hear the person next to you without shouting. Awful dinner not because of the food but the noise ruined everything. Takeout is the plan only.

The best rice balls on the planet!!! Best Italian food in south florida. The homemade meatballs are amazing. Can't say enough good things about this place. Service is awesome as well. Curbside pick up is always fast and painless. A+++++

Love this place and can't say enough good things about it! Food and staff are always great!! Pizza, wings, pasta dishes are all top notch!! The place is always busy which speaks volumes. I bring my family 2-3 time a month since they opened and we always have an great experience! Favorites include the Brooklyn Pizza, Pasta Bolognese, The sicilian salad, Fried Calamari to name a few.

This Pizza is as good as it gets- had basil ricotta cheese toppings- AWESOME!! I have had wood fired pizza in Bridgeport, Ct- also awesome- something about the wood fired and fresh tomato sauce which is unbeatable

No, no, & no. I could tell this was gonna be bad when I walked in & it was dark to the point of my eyes having to take 3 min to adjust. This is another one of these "let's put a Molto Mario spin on Italian (Sicilian?) food & do something different". Brownie Blast, Rice Balls, & Chicken Wings yeah ok, I get the picture. Bar @ the door as you walk in pretty much sums up this place, & maybe it is a good pizza & drinks place, but not for Italian food. First strike was do you have veal? No, any kind of veal? No. Do you have gnocchi? No. Strike 2, can we start off with some garlic rolls? No!! Strike 3 your out! What do you have? Waitress told me the special of the day which was chicken with peppers, & I asked for some rigatoni on the side. Just a hair above poor, fair @ best. Chicken was tasteless, not marinated just chicken breast slices & all the peppers & olives in the world could not make this tasty to me. Rigatoni was poor, very bland tomato soup tasting sauce on top & a sprig of basil. Manager passed our table 5 times never said a word, & place was empty, party of 4 arrived just as we were leaving. If your a hipster or wannabe hipster then you have found your place, if you want great Italian food, go to Umberto's on commercial or Gianni's on Atlantic...trust me.

Pretty solid wood fire pizzas . I have frequented the pizza and the salads and I have yet to have a bad one. The bottles of wine are reasonable with good selection . Very nice atmosphere with excellent service

Down here visiting mom, we both decided it was going to be a pizza night. I read a few reviews on the pizza situation here in FL (from Boston). This place is crushing it and very impressed in the quality of crust and freshness of the cheese and sauce. They have it down solid on how a pizza should be made. A bit much on the EVO as it really didn't need it, but it didn't bother me since the pizza was so good.

My favorite pizza place in the pompano area! Favorites= stack of Sicily, Sicilian salad, any deep dish pizza!!!

  • Laura G.

I dream about their signature salad. Not normally a fan of any vinegar - but their balsamic vinaigrette is yummy. The small salad is actually large and I always get it with Gorgonzola on the side. Great in house or to-go.

Another great meal! Love this place it's comfortable , consistent and nothing short of excellent last night had the a Artichoke and some pizza. My table had a square ( Sicilian style pizza) I had a slice of that and two wood fired traditional. Plus Crustini of and we split two large house salads with the house dressing. It's a Balsamic based creamy type so good. We have a couple or three four go to places this is the only Italian for lack of a better category. If you have not tried it yet your missing out on a near perfect dining experience the only thing is it's busy so you may have a wait but you can call ahead I learned.

Great spaghetti and meatballs. I've had the pizza here and it's great as well. I had the pizza with the pepper. Pretty spicy. I usually do pick ups and the will come out to the car

Great food. The pizza is wood fired and comes out well done. The wings are amazing and are also finished in the oven., topped with caramelized onions. You have to try the jumbo shrimp appetizer, they are amazing! They are a bit pricey for an appetizer, but you get four huge shrimp cooked to perfection.

This place is absolutely fantastic. Went in at lunchtime and the place was very busy, but the service was very quick and exceptionally friendly. The food portions are enormous, particularly the Sicilian salad. I ordered the salad off of the lunch menu and two rice balls and had enough food for both my lunch and dinner later that night. I haven't tried the pizza yet, but I will definitely be stopping again soon.

    (5)
  • Lauren C.

All I can say is Arricini! Rice balls are superb and each meal I have had there has been good. Small issue the second time but had nothing to do with food quality. I have not tried the pizza yet but will do soon. I am a picky consumer of Italian food as I grew up eating the best ... But this place is good. It is not traditional as they have wings etc..., but try those too they are great

  • Steve L.

I dined here with my adult son, arriving at around 5:30PM. The restaurant was already busy, but we were seated immediately. Our server was very friendly and answered all our questions. We each started with the rice balls, which were reasonably priced and made a great appetizer. The rice was crispy on the outside and the filling was tender and flavorful. For the main course I had the "Stack of Sicily", which was layers of fried, breaded eggplant, mozzarella and fresh tomato, drizzled with a balsamic glaze. It was fabulous - the eggplant tender and the tomatoes and cheese flavorful. My son had the Cervellatta (small sausages) with onions and peppers (I forget the menu name), and he said it was also good. For dessert we each had the "Brownie Blast", which was a warm brownie with gooey chocolate center, served with excellent ice cream. Delicious! The service was prompt and the prices were not unreasonable for the quality of food. By the time we left there was a line out the door. The restaurant is fairly loud, but not overwhelmingly so. If I was back in the area I'd definitely return!

It's ok pizza. It's like any other coal-fired pizza joint. It's not blazing a new trail. We had the rice balls. They were giant. You only need three for a table of four. I wouldn't order them for a table of two. The calamari was good. It's served hot, crispy and a little picy with the sauce on the side. Service was good. The place was packed on a Thursday night. They have reasonable glasses of wine. They have a of my faves that I can usually find in a restaurant including the Mark West Pinot Noir. We had The Hitman. Lots of roasted pepers and sausage. A decent pie. Check it out of you are in the area but don't feel like you need to go out of your way to try it. Do a local search nearby and I am sure you will be just fine.

Very good thin-crust pizza, but it gets cold fast with the A/C blowing like mad! It's not particularly filling, being so thin of crust that an average person with a good appetite can easily eat half of their so-called "large (16-inch?) pizza." I brought the other half home for my son. $18 for a "large pizza" with 2 toppings. My wife had the gluten-free pizza, which was fine for that type of thing--much better than Mellow Mushroom in Delray Beach. It was $15, though, for a "small" (tiny!) one with 2 toppings.

  • Norma D.

Where they get the 4/12 star rating from I don't know? We started with Calamari, which was so so. Had a bottle of Italian wine for $ 23 not bad. Then ordered a large pizza one half margarita the other half Captains. Pizza, not bad, but nothing to write home about either. Big problem I have is the atmosphere, there is none. The music is horrible and loud, screaming kids. I see this place as a mix of diner and sports bar. But not as an Italian restaurant. If you want outstanding food, and just a bit more quiet? Go to Zuccarellis, you be better off.

  • Elizabeth H.

My first time there for dinner/takeout. I ordered a large pizza with several toppings, a kids pasta, and a chicken parm sandwich(I forgot the name they call them). The food was very good. Kinda pricey, those three things cost over $45. Overall good experience, will go again. The lady that helped me at the counter was very sweet and helpful.

I have to update my review! I think this place might be my favorite pizza joint! The Marie and the Popeye's pizza are my favorites! So good and perfectly crispy!! Yum!

  • M L.

Love this place. I come here often with my parents, although sometimes we order to go. The deep dish pizza is delicious. However, we always make sure to ask them to take it out early since we aren't fans of well done/burnt pizza. Otherwise, they have great soup and breadsticks. I've had the caesar salad and pasta ala vodka, both great choices (especially together)

I heard of this place from a patient of mine and wow was I impressed. The pizza is very good and one of the best I have in a very long time. We will definitely come here more often.

Had a great meal and a wonderful waitress! From the moment we stepped inside everyone was so lovely and welcoming. We ordered the caprese salad, a couple of pizzas and the veggie lasagna. Loved it all!

    (5)
  • Christopher B.

Wonderful. That is really all that I need to say. The pizza was so fresh. I got the Captain which is pepperoni, sausage and meatballs. It was balanced with high quality ingredients, the perfect amount of spices and a crispy crust just the way it is supposed to be made but never is anywhere else. The salad we got was huge and oh so fresh. And my chicken parm sandwich was a whole new level with fresh bake bread and tons of crispy breaded chicken cutlets that were moist and flavorful. The decor is sophisticate and modern. The kitchen is CLEAN. So many kitchens miss this one even wen they are a display kitchen. And the service was warm. I can't think of any complaints.

Sicilian Oven is a little gem located in a nothing mall in Lighthouse Point. With a complete absence (as far as I can see) of genuinely good New York thin crust pizza, South Florida has plenty of good Coal Fired Pizza, and pizza here is every bit as good as other places such as Anthony's. In addition, the full if basic Italian menu is of an equally high standard - good pasta, tasty delicious sauces, and eggplant parm options for the calorie-conscious. Indeed, the full and consistent quality of the menu at this price point is the real and very pleasant surprise here, it is exceptionally good food and very reasonable. I've never had good luck with the wings, but maybe that's just me. The restaurant itself stretches out to the back and around to the left, behind a neighboring store, so is much bigger than it seems from the front, but in-season especially, it is busy, so come early. I would certainly suggest a table in restaurant area, where there is far better service than at the bar, where always seems overstaffed, but with too many staff spending too long chatting to each other and checking phones in an almost impressive model of inefficiency. That said, this is a great spot - well worth a visit if you can't find decent Italian or pizza

    (4)
  • T T.

Goodbye Anthony's Coal Fired Pizza with your long lines, LOUD & CHAOTIC dining room and crappy parking. You've been replaced. Finally got around to eating here this weekend. The pizza and stack of Italy were really good. The waitstaff were terrific! They checked in on us a lot but not enough to become pest. I just wrote a 2 star review for another establishment because most of their waitstaff are airheads and manage to ruin your dining experience.

  • Mariam D.

Oh baby - this was good. Started with the Tuscan Fries and onto the eggplant...the lead character in the Queen of Sicily specialty pizza. The Chicken Reggiano pizza was delicious too. A cannoli for dessert and I was a happy girl. There were a lot of tempting menu offerings, so I will likely be back. It's located on the east side of Federal Highway in a shopping center with lots of parking.

This place gets 5 stars! Everything, and I mean Everything is delicious! We are always 100% satisfied when we eat here. Our waiter tonight however was either brand new or just a horrible waiter. Israel had the personality of a shoe. We had to ask him for dessert because he was ready to bring us the check. If he's new then it can be fixed with training, if he's just horrible then he's gotta go.

Great pizza, great service, and beautiful girls working. What more could a guy ask for. The wings are great, the portions are very generous and the location is busy which speaks to the quality.

This is my golfing buddies favorite place. We hit balls across the street and often come in after and share a couple beers and a pizza. I do admit that the pizza here is very good. There is a ton of flavor in the sauce, almost too much, and the ingredients they top it with seem to me to be high quality. Service here is also good, very friendly young ladies clad in black. The dough to me lacks a little flavor, could use some more salt, perhaps a bolder type of yeast, or even maybe age it a little more before use. Just seems a little bland to me, especially since there is so much flavor everywhere else on their pies. My other knock is the lack of value. It seems every pizzeria with a non traditional oven, either wood fired or coal charges and arm and a leg for what amounts to skimpily topped small to medium sized pizza. The large here is a scant 14 inches across with an entry level price of $15.00. Extra toppings cost 2 or 4 dollars each depending what they are. Once you add a few you're getting a small pie much too far north of $20.00. Maybe the wood costs more to operate the oven but I don't think it adds any flavor to a pizza beyond the burnt spots that are inevitable in such a hot oven. I definitely recommend not getting take out. I tried it once and the pies just do not hold up to take out. They inexplicably put a sheet of wax paper underneath the hot pie which ensures any grease and condensation pools underneath and collects into the crust making a soggy mess instead of being wicked away into the cardboard box itself. I've seen this once before and do not understand the reasoning behind it. Dine in I would give the pizza 4.5 stars, take out it's a 3. Eat in for best results.

Twice I've been here and both times the foods been awesome except for the sicilian pizza The meatballs, eggplant/mozzarella/tomato tower, and Sicilian gorgonzola salad are all great, at least 4 star worthy. The table next to us had shrimp scampi I was drooling over. Prices are reasonable, but they need to give some free garlic rolls if you're eating in Chicken parm cutlets are up there with the best i've had "The Boss" pie, basically margherita, is real good but that sicilian is a disgrace & the pies with any type of meat come too greasy

  • William R.

Good food a little greasy. Good pizza. Have eaten there a number of times consistently good.

  • Darryl S.

Started off with an appetizer of fried calamari. Although there was nothing special in the "look" of the dish, it was cooked perfectly -- tender and tasty! -- and its accompanying de rigueur marinara sauce was actually quite tasty. Our table of four also shared a huge salad that was fresh and tasty, as well. The thin crusted pizza -- fresh sliced mozzarella, tomato sauce, and basil -- was super! Very simple, yet high-quality ingredients used to perfection. Definitely one of the best pizzas I've ever eaten! It's too bad it's a bit far from my home; otherwise, I'd be there at least a couple times a week...!

Just discovered this place. A good recommendation by friends. The place is mobbed between 6:30 and 8:30 on weekends. Don't even think about going there at those times during season. Their food is great and very reasonably priced. Their Sicilian pie is very good, if you're into that. Their pastas are great and the pizza is pretty good. I usually get the Mona Lisa on a whole wheat crust. Comfort food, for sure. Bottom line is that this is an inexpensive red sauce Italian joint. Probably the best in the area. We drive from Fort Lauderdale to eat there.

The pizza was fantastic. We had the thin pizza. The pizza took less than 10 minutes from the time we ordered till it was brought to the table. Cold beer and good wine selection. Great service.

Okay brick oven pizza. No different from any other. The waitor got our order wrong. He kind of argued saying but this is what I heard. Well buddy, you heard wrong. We didn't touch the pizza because we wanted him to correct it. He says "don't worry, get started on this one until I bring out the other pizza." Being that we were starving, we ate it. Afterall, he did say to get started on it. Long story short, waitor says " oh, I see you really liked the pizza." Uh, yea we we're starving and waited long enough!! He charges us for the pizza we didn't want and gave us a small pizza of the one that we did want on the house. I understand we ate the pizza, but he got our order wrong and tells us don't worry just eat it. Then kind of throws it in our face like oh well you liked it enough to eat.. Ehh it kind of turned me off. their calamari was good, I did enjoy the sauce it came with, very chunky. Their cheese cake was pretty good as well. I don't know if I would return to this location, not unless the waitor reads back my order lol.

My partner and I have been to many Italian Restaurants throughout the Fort Lauderdale area looking for the best pizza. We have traveled several times to Italy and have sampled pizza from many different regions. One constant to the best pie is simple, fresh ingredients and less is more and the crust needs to be thin and charred a bit. We get disappointed going to pizza joints around where we live, only to find heavy crusts and lots of cheese. it just makes the pizza heavy tasting. Then along came Sicilian Oven in Coral Springs. We went there on a fluke and ordered the Boss Pizza with their Sicilian Salad. The Boss Pizza is just thin charred crust, homemade sauce, fresh mozzarella slices and fresh cut basil. Nothing else. Let me tell you that this was the best pie we have had down here in South Florida. it really reminded us of the pizza we've had many times in Italy. Just a few fresh ingredients where you can taste each item is the way it should be. We fell in love with Sicilian Oven because of this. We since have moved more into Fort Lauderdale and found going all the way out to Coral Springs was a hike and then was surprised that there was a Sicilian Oven in Pompano Beach right on Federal Highway. We went there and found the food at this sister restaurant to be exactly the same as Coral Springs. We have yet to try any other main courses on the menu, but everything we see come out of the kitchen looks great. The Sicilian Salad for 2 and a large The Boss pie is all you need for a great dinner out. They have me as a forever customer.

I love this place. I've been here many times, and I have never been disappointed by the food. I've had almost every type of pizza they offer, and I love them all. The wood fire lends the crust a delicious smoky flavor, their prices are affordable, and the staff is very friendly. Overall, someplace I could eat at every night!

3.75 stars This restaurant features a wood burning oven which adds a unique flavor to my all time favorite food... pizza!! This is not the best pizza I've ever had but it's pretty good with a nice selection of gourmet and original toppings. Please do not even waste your $2 for the sicilian pie upcharge; it was so bready that one piece had me stuffed! They offer one of the top 3 salads I've ever had! Sicilian salad contains a fabulous mix of romaine lettuce, tomato, onion, Greek olives, walnuts, garbanzo beans, fresh shaved Parmesan and yummy, yummy Gorgonzola cheeses! All of that tossed in a house made balsamic vinaigrette dressing. Best $12.72 spent in a while! Another highly recommended menu item is called Stack of Sicily for. It's a fresh mozzarella, fresh tomato, and crispy fried eggplant stacked 9 layers high and topped with fresh basil and balsamic glaze; very very good and for $10. Side of 1-2 large meatballs was worth the $5-$9 also. Walking through the restaurant had me drooling over other customers' entrees and wanting to come back. I would not order a cannoli from here again; it was a little 2 bite goner with some unnecessary raspberry sauce on the side. However, Menchies is located next door and if you didn't already know that's the best fro-yo in the game! We received wonderful service inside here and they even offer curbside pickup. I love this place and recommend you go if in the neighborhood. You will not be disappointed!

On vacation and was looking for gluten free italian food. Pizza was petty good. Our friends loved the regular wood oven pizza and the spaghetti with meatballs. Service was very friendly, some of the best I have had on this trip! They really need to carry some gluten free pasta which they don't at this time

Ate here last night with a party of 4. Everyone enjoyed their meals - some interesting pizzas, and my son certainly enjoyed his pasta with meatballs. Good, wood fired pizza with fresh ingredients and a nice mixture of cheeses. Fast, efficient service. If we come back to this area, we will certainly be back. Not living in the area, the address threw us off for a moment. The restaurant is located in a Publix shopping mall with plenty of parking.

okay, me and the missus are repeat offenders. our neighbors wanted to return, this time with her husband. the missus never eats, and this is the only place where she can eat almost every day! we had the bruschetta and calamari apps. missus had the small personal boss pizza, i had the special risotto with goat cheese, mushrooms and shaved beef. our friends had the pizza al vodka and the shrimp cappellini. the risotto was perfectly prepared, creamy, light, flavorful. the pasta al-dente, and the pizza was perfect. we were just here a few days ago and only dove into the pizza. This restaurant, is well rounded when it comes to its dishes. The service was incredibly accommodating. our waitress, kim and lisa was efficient, affable, and attentive, without being overbearing. this is truly a fav neigborhood cucina. you gotta come here, aye vavoom.

Ordered takeout. When I got home, they had given me the wrong food. Told me it would be 20 minutes to get my food. Drove back, no curbside space; so I called inside to let them know I was in a space across. 10 minutes later (now 30 since we first called) no one even came out to give me an ETA. I then put the top up on my car, go inside, where I stand in front of the manager and 4 waitresses for another 3 minutes while they completely ignore me. Finally a waiter comes by and asks the ritual "how are you doing". When I said "not really all that good" pretty loud, I finally got their attention and my food that had been sitting on the counter all along. The manager's remedy for all if this - "I apologize"!! Needless to say, my AMEX, cash or otherwise will NEVER be used there again. Now I have cold food and I'm too angry to eat. $55 down the drain. Food is expensive, and the manager needs intensive customer service training. Go to Lito's a few doors down to save 1/2 the money, get twice as good food, and friendly personalized service!

We love the Sicilian style pizza here!!!! It is so tasty and definitely our 1st choice if we are in the mood for pizza. It is warm and cozy inside and great to take the kids or go by ourselves to sit at the bar for some wine and food. My boyfriend enjoys the Italian style chicken wings. The service is good and the location is great for us! I haven't tried much else rather than the pizza, but I don't need to :-)

Sicilian Oven has the coal fired pizza. They have the thinnest crust, good sauce and the right amount of cheese all make for a good pizza. They pretty much only do one thing and do it right.

  • Cherine A.

Just updating to say we got their regular large cheese pizza for our family pizza night... it had a good flavor to it, but the crust was too well done (and I LIKE things nearly burnt), to the point where it was inedible. Still giving them four stars because that sicilian pizza we had last time was awesome, and the service I got just picking up the pizza tonight was very friendly and fast. I had called 45 minutes prior to picking it up, and told them what time I'd be there. So when I arrived, I paid for the pizza and the girl said it was almost ready. I stood by the bar to wait, and the bartender immediately offered me water while I waited. I hadn't even been there 30 seconds and the pizza was ready. So we'll definitely order from here again... we'll just get the sicilian from now on.

Another in the line of "Coal Fired" pizza joints that have sprung up like flowers in spring. The menu is fairly consistent with the usual - coal fired pizza, coal fired wings, a good salad, some pasta and some sandwiches. What differentiates this place is two-fold - Ambiance & Taste. The place is the 4th in the last 3 years in this bay, but I think they'll make it. The food is really tasty. The pizza is solid and the toppings are high quality. The salad is a real winner. They do the usual gorgonzola salad, but really do a above average job with it by adding nice roasted red peppers, toasted chopped walnuts, as well as green & calamato olives. Sandwiches are good & pastas are cooked al dente and the sauces are nice. Sufficient wine selection, but with the garlic, the house reds are fine. Prices are the usual, the $10-15/head with a few more dollars depending on booze. Only beer & wine here, but it's a good joint and I hope it sticks around.

A large group of us ate here for a TweetUp and The Sicilian Oven was such a great host! We sampled all kinds of pizza. I really loved their Margherita Pizza, it was the best I have ever tried! The staff was so friendly and accommodating for our huge group. I would definitely go back again.

Was not familiar with the area, used yelp and bang what a great place. Server was really good, food was prepared and presented really well and it tasted just as good. Get the wings for an app well worth it.

A little taste of South Beach right here in Pompano Beach. The waiters (all women when I was there) were all dressed in black and the open kitchen staff (all men while I was there) were all dressed in white. The dining tables are rich mahogany and the wall and ceiling lamps are a deep purple. The lighting is low and the background music is as sophisticated as the decor. The pizza crust is thin and slightly crunchy. The pizza comes out slightly burnt on the edges from the wood fire flames. The pizzas are topped off with high quality ingredients and a terrifically neutral tomato sauce that lets the ingredients stand out on their own. If dominos made pizza like this there would be no reason to ever leave home. There was only one slight design flaw to the entire restaurant and that was the wash rooms. They were designed for only one person at a time. A little small for a business of this size. This is probably due to the expansion of the restaurant. I'm giving Sicilian Oven a big thumbs up! This is a classy place. If you go there in the evenings I would suggest dressing a little better than the typical Florida tourist or you will feel very under-dressed for the place.

I love this place! We are at the bar for wine, pizza and friends almost every Friday since it opened. My personal favorite... The Hitman pizza and the Sicilian salad with Gorgonzola. The servers are very friendly and attentive. You can expect to wait on the weekend as this place gets very busy during peak hours. Try going about 8 and seating is better. Another favorite of mine is the Parmesan chicken tenders and spaghetti. They are both separate menu items but they will combine them for an excellent version of chicken Parmesan. Stay with the house wines. They are very good and will keep your tab lower.

The coal fired pizza is excellent here, better than Anthony's. They don't offer brewed iced tea which is a big no no. Staff is hit or miss, but the food here is very good.

Amazing place. Was in pompano for 2 weeks and came here twice. The food is legit and at a very reasonable price. The sandwiches are made the way they should be. I recommend everything on the menu. Very authentic style dishes. Didn't try the pizza but I am certain it is just as good as everything else on the menu

We have ordered delivery from Sicilian Oven several times via Delivery Dudes, mostly the wood fire Pizza which is pretty good, but yesterday we went to have a late lunch at the actual restaurant for the first time. We sat at the bar which serves beer and wine only. The restaurant was a bit dark, the dining room is large and well laid out with regular tables and high tops through out, service was friendly for the most part. We noticed several of the servers (mostly young girls) were gathered at the end of the bar looking bored, we were there before the dinner rush so the place wasn't busy yet but the Service staff should be aware that they may still have a few customers like us and it made us feel uncomfortable to watch them just standing at the end of the bar as we are trying to eat lunch. We ordered wine and Pellegrino to start, we were surprised that we weren't offered any garlic rolls or any type of bread. We started with the Arugula Salad served with brushetta, Parmesan cheese and their homemade vinaigrette - The Arugula was fresh, but we didn't care for the dressing, it was overwhelming, and overly drenched the salad. For lunch I ordered the Ravioli Bolognese, the pasta is not made fresh and tasted like it was previously frozen, the sauce was good and tasted fresh which is why it was so disappointing to have it served with previously frozen Raviolis. My husband ordered the Penne Cervelletta with Broccoli rabe, he enjoyed the sausage and the rabe but he wasn't thrilled with the Penne, we asked how their pasta was prepared and our server confirmed that they do not make any fresh pasta, they only prepare the sauces, this is disappointing for a restaurant that advertises home cooked food however doesn't make their own pasta. Pizza 4 stars Italian Food 2.5 stars Service 3.5

This place is a total Anthony's copy job, right down to the bottled Iced Tea. The food is Ok and less expensive than Anthony's, but Anthony's are nicer restaurants overall. This place is dark and dreary and the servers look like they'd rather be home watching soap operas. A good value, if nothing else.

We had a large pepperoni mushroom pizza cooked well done. The pepperonis are perfect. Small circles that curl like bowls and get crispy on the edges. Excellent cheese and sauce. One of the best pizzas in Ft. Lauderdale Pompano area. Highly recommend.

I love this place! They have great coal-fired pizza and amazing rice balls! All of their pizzas are great, especially their specialty and daily special pies. Always thin and crispy, their pizzas never disappoint. This visit included their daily special pizza: white pizza with fresh spinach, eggplant, and tomato. So fricken good! We also ordered a bunch of rice balls, which is a rare find in South Florida. If you've never had a rice ball (I'm sorry for your loss) it's basically a fist-sized ball of creamy/cheesy rice, stuffed with whatever (these had ground beef and peas), then lightly breaded and deep-fried. Amazing. Sicilian Oven serves their rice balls with their homemade meat sauce, which is also delicious. I've had most of their specialty pizzas, coal fired wings, and house salad. All are with a try - you can't go wrong! *I was so excited for lunch I forgot to snap some pictures before digging in... Sorry y'all*

Of the myriad of so-called Italian or pizza restaurants, I tend to be a fan of Sicilian Oven as its pizzas tend to be out of the ordinary, more unique in offerings and their other food definitively Sicilian as opposed to being some sort of Italian of generalized Sicilian generic. When I first walked in, my eye was immediately taken by the fact that they had not one but two open fire ovens and that their kitchen area was in plain view, keep neat and orderly with a clean appearance. Their pizzas tend to be of the ticker crust, but of good texture. When they have it (it's generally on daily special only) their clam pizza with a white based sauce is not only unique but one of the best. When last here I ordered their roasted artichoke, their cervelatta and a glass of Chianti wine. My server, Dillon, couldn't have been more professional, polite and helpful. My glass of wine came with a full pour and when my artichokes arrived, they were three half cut portions of good size, perfectly open fire roasted, done with fresh to the taste lemon and bowl of tasty dipping sauce. They also didn't forget to give me an extra bowl for the leaves. The cervelatta came as a traditional rope sausage nicely open fire roasted on a bed of sautéed onion and roasted red pepper. Though I think more of Cambria area, hence not technically Sicilian as it is separated by the Strait of Messina, cervelatta is still from the "toe" of the Italian boot, true Sicilian enough for me, totally unlike the Swiss counterpart, cervelat. As there aren't that many restaurants that keep true to Sicilian or where you can get an artichoke anything or a cervelatta, Sicilian Oven is about as good as it gets for what it is.

In my honest opinion, this place makes the best pizza in Broward County. It's a fairly small restaurant that's nicely decorated and has a "home" feel to it. It is ALWAYS crowded, so make a reservation if you don't like to wait (or settle for a seat at the bar - which is the option I usually go with.) They also provide convenient curbside pick-up for carry out orders. The service is pretty good overall. I have had a rude server here in the past, but it is not a regular occurrence. For an appetizer I usually get the Tuscan Fries. These things are delicious but they're a little heavy, one appetizer would be enough for about two to three people. The pizza. This is why I keep returning to Sicilian Oven. "The Boss" just can't be beat when you're in the mood for a quality pie. The combination of their homemade sauce, fresh mozzarella, and sweet basil is a match made in heaven. The crust is always crispy & just the right thickness. When I'm a little more hungry than usual (the munchies....) I get it with sausage & meatballs and it's amazing. My other favorite pizza here is "The Hit Man" which is a combination of sausage, garlic, red peppers and hot peppers. It is SPICY so if you are not a fan of a burning mouth then stay far away! I personally love food that makes me sweat so this one is right up my alley. The flavors compliment each other very nicely and even a small pie is filling due to the amount of toppings. I can't speak on the desserts because I have never tried them, although when neighboring tables have ordered them they have always looked excellent. I would try them if I wasn't stuffed every time I finish one of their pizzas! The only drawback of this restaurant (in my opinion) is the lack of a liquor bar. There seems to be enough room for 100s of bottles of wine but there is no liquor offered at all. If I could have a bourbon with my pizza, they'd be getting the full 5 stars.

Wanted to try some place different tonight for wings and a friend had said the SO was the place to try since they bake their wings. Along with the wings we ordered a couple of other appetizers: mozzarella sticks and the meatballs (2 by the way). Total for those three things was about $30 - not too bad. But my mouth was watering based on all the reviews. Curbside pickup was great - the young lady came out and greeted us and brought our food to go. The meatballs were the best part of the three we ordered. They come with a little cheese sauce and tomato sauce - no bread. That's it. In a scale of 1 to 5; i'd give the meatballs a 4. They were juicy and about 2" in diameter. Next, mozzarella sticks - your basic every day cheese sticks with sauce. I'd give them a 3. Nothing special. And now my mine mouth watering Wings that i was told were Awesome! Well... They came in a dish covered with caramelized onions - seemed pretty heavy. After i disposed of the onions, it was much lighter! I took a bite - yup you could taste the wood stove cooking (slightly) - but honestly i was expecting more flavor. So i'll give them a 3 - people might like drums and wings this plain. Anyway, i think SO is over-hyped - but full disclosure I did not have the pizza! I might come back for that someday... But there's a ton of Italian places around with less $$ involved. Hope this helps someone... BTW... I had some wings from JMarks Rest the other day which were great - some tangy sauce!

My husband and I were at Sicillian Oven Nov 7 , 2014 and had a wonderful first visit. I had Eggplant Parmigiana which was done to perfection. The hot Garlic bread was very tasty and i was tempted to eat too much but held off to enjoy the entree. My hubby had a personal pizza and thoroughly enjoyed it. Our server, Kelly, and manager, Pete, were very attentive to our needs. It was a very special evening. RitaP

We where in the mood for pasta after seeing a movie across the street and of course we had to go to the Sicilian Oven. The one thing we have not really tried is wine and our server, can't remember her name but she is tall and gorgeous, was very knowledgeable, patient and offered to let us try some and we both enjoyed the flavor of Pinot Noir, Murphy Goode a California Red. We started with the house salad which was large enough for both of us to share and it was so so tasty. It had all kinds of goodies from great cheese to walnuts and the dressing which had a very unique taste. Our main dishes were Pasta with Homemade Cervellata and Homemade Pasta Bolognese. The Cervellata is a homemade sausage stuff with pork and cheeses. It was mouthwatering and the sauce is always rich with flavor. You can tell they use fresh ingredients and care about the products they serve. The servings are large and can easily be shared but why would you when you can take home what you couldn't finish and have a great lunch on another day.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
